The nicest old road route into Cleveland from the west is US-6, which winds along Lake Erie as Sandusky Road, Lake Avenue, and Clifton Boulevard. Running right through downtown, past “The Flats” along Shoreway, then east along Superior Avenue, US-6 gives a great taste of the city.
US-20, on the other hand, diverges slightly east of downtown Cleveland, following Euclid Avenue past the Museum of Art, then crosses to the north of US-6, following the lakeshore all the way into Pennsylvania.
