US-2’s briefest stint in any state, the route through Wisconsin nevertheless navigates wisely, for it takes in the far, Lake Superior cap of Wisconsin’s northern region, and includes a majestic 140-mile detour along the rough-and-tumble Lake Superior shoreline, home of rich history, gorgeous boreal forest, and pastoral and littoral scenery. All of these provide outstanding opportunities to stop and explore.
